Birthday Crusades and Free Birthday Food!

hands-summer-party-colorful It’s my birthday y’all!

Time to bust out the champagne & german chocolate cake… At this point I’m much more excited about celebrating than I am about aging! LOL

My mom and I share the same birthday month, so we’ve always gone all out for the entire month of October through Halloween. Last year we celebrated in New Orleans, which was… interesting. However, I’m living in LA now while my mom’s still in the Midwest. We started a new tradition and I wanted to share it with you in lieu of her absence. I just know you’re going to love it!

So it’s called a “Birthday Crusade” … we basically found a way to eat for free the entire month of our birthdays!

Most restaurants have birthday clubs or email clubs that send birthday freebies. Some are for BOGO (buy-one-get-one) deals, while others don’t even require you to dine-in! I’ve gotten everything from a coffee, or a piece of chocolate cake, to a full 4-course meal FOR FREE on/around my birthday. Some places will offer giftcards like Old Navy & CVS, lottery tickets, or $100 off a flight.

Just click the links below and sign up for as many freebies as you can. I use an email address specifically dedicated to birthday freebie accounts to avoid mixing business with pleasure! You might find yourself eating dessert for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, or having enough food in your fridge to last you a week at a time, but going on a “birthday crusade” is much more about bonding with someone you love.

My favorite part of our tradition was talking for hours while we drove around town to pick up all of our goodies! My hubby’s joining me this year, but his birthday is in April so our crusade isn’t completely free.

Use this list as a guide. There are about a million different places that offer freebies so if your favorite places aren’t on this list just google “xxx birthday club” and you’ll probably find what you’re looking for. Click the links below and add your info. Make sure you confirm your email address if they ask, and remember to sign up at least 2 WEEKS BEFORE your birthday. Don’t forget to bring your ID with you when you go to pick up your freebies!

P.S. I’m super duper excited to launch my first Imaginary Chef product! It’s going to make cooking delicious meals for your friends & family so much easier. Stay tuned!
