Recipe to forgo the cheesy garlic bread…

This recipe is SO cool because it’s gluten-free and dairy-free, but tastes like cheese bread! I’ not a big fan of any of the vegan cheeses I’ve tried, so I just don’t cook with it in my healthier recipes. This bread is a rare treat because it’s super flavorful and you don’t miss the grain texture or cheesy flavor at all! This recipe is also part of my signature Louisiana Po’Boy Flatbread which I’ll post for you guys some day soon!


INGREDIENTS

½ cup of olive oil
½ cup of water
3/4 teaspoon of sea salt
¾ cup of tapioca flour
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
¼ cup of coconut flour
1 egg
½ teaspoon of black pepper
¼ teaspoon of white pepper
½ teaspoon of oregano
½ teaspoon of parsley
¼ teaspoon of thyme

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Boil olive oil, water, & salt. Combine garlic powder & tapioca flour in a metal mixing bowl on a low speed. Pour boiled mixture into the dry ingredients & continue to mix. Let the dough rise for 5 minutes. Add in the egg & seasonings. Add in the coconut flour & begin kneading the dough for a minute or so. Separate the dough into 4 balls and flatten them on a parchment paper covered baking sheet. Bake the flatbread for about 20 minutes. Remove from the oven & let cool 5 minutes before adding topping. This recipe makes 4 flatbread rounds.
